Hi Guest,

Toro Interprovincial 2013 at North Shore
A trying week for organisers, volunteers and staff with the weather however the final day completed a very successful week of top amateur golf. Manawatu/Wanganui were the eventual winners defeating Bay of Plenty with a convincing 4 ½ to ½ win. North Shore members James Davis and Jason Gulasekharam performed solidly however the team missed out of making the semi finals.
An outstanding effort by all North Shore volunteers ably lead by Peter Reid and the North Shore Golf Club staff made this a memorable week for many golfers and demonstrated why North Shore Golf Club is held in excellent regard in the golf industry.

NSGC Annual General Meeting 2013
Monday night saw 94 members attend the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the North Shore Golf Club with a couple of outstanding highlights. John Street, pictured on the right being congratulated by President Kevin Brewer was awarded Life Membership following an introduction on John’s history from Graham Harding. The award was well received by those present with John accepting the honour and commenting in his response “he was proud to be member of the golf club”. He has enjoyed his thirty years as a member and thanked all those that he has worked with over this period.
John’s contribution to the club at the end of the meeting received a standing ovation.

Officers for 2014
Kevin Brewer has gone back unopposed as President, James Davis replaces Rod Clarke as Treasurer and following a vote Rowland Griffiths is the new Board member along with Sue Robertson.
Peter Farnworth returns as Club Captain for another stint with John Drucker and Rob Drower, the new Men’s Vice Captain’s and they will be joined by Wendy Storey unopposed as the Women’s Club Captain and the new Women’s Vice Captain is Jill Udy.
Other business conducted at the meeting saw Motions 1 - 4 adopted unanimously with Motion 5 withdrawn as no one came forward to propose or second the motion.

Following the announcement of John Street’s generous donation towards the cart paths, some have suggested that we should give other members the opportunity to assist in a similar way, in order to meet the difference between John’s contribution of $200,000 and the estimated cost of $300.000. We welcome an approach by any member or groups of members.
